Overview

• Official English title: Journal of Information Studies, Interfaculty Initiative in Information Studies, The University of Tokyo
• This journal publishes full-length articles and papers giving details of original theoretical and critical research carried out by III faculty members and doctoral students in the GSII. It also includes lectures and reports from symposia held at the III.
  
• Doctoral students in the GSII may publish the results of their research in the journal after passing rigorous assessment by internal and external reviewers.

Research papers will be published on the III/GSII website and UTokyo Repository.
* Distribution of CDs which contain published papers to authors is now suspended. Please download them from the III/GSII website above.

Copyright

The copyrights of papers published in the journal belong to the III.

Pledge

• A pledge is required to submit a paper.
• Please submit all the pledges of co-authors in case of co-authored papers. A pledge in joint names will do.

Procedure

* The procedure has been changed as follows from No. 99 so that you can submit a paper without visiting the III/GSII Library.

• 1. Please inform the III/GSII Library by e-mail that you are planning to submit a paper. (Click here for the address)
• Subject: Submission to III bulletin No. X (Your name)
• Body: your phone number
  * As for refereed papers, please also include your grade and supervisor's name.
• 2. We will reply to you to notice a URL to upload required documents for submission.
• If you don't receive our reply till 4 p.m. of the next business day, please resend the e-mail. (There may be something wrong with e-mail delivery.)
• 3. Pleas upload required documents as follows to the notified URL by deadline.
• 1) A pledge with a physical signature, scanned and converted to PDF
• 2) A manuscript (cover, main text, English abstract) in MS Word / text file format, that are prepared in accordance with the submission/manuscript guideline
• 3) PDF version of the file above (2)
• 4. We will send a confirmation e-mail after checking uploaded documents.

NOTICE

• Please make sure to prepare your manuscript in accordance with the submission/manuscript guideline. If it turns out that the manuscript is not in accordance with guidelines, it may be rejected even though you receive a confirmation e-mail.
• You cannot replace your manuscript once uploaded.

Research Survey Reports in Information Studies

Overview

• Official English title: Research Survey Reports in Information Studies, Interfaculty Initiative in Information Studies, The University of Tokyo
• This journal is the III’s main medium for the publication of research based on social surveys and experimental data. It consists of academic papers written by III faculty and doctoral students in the GSII.
• Doctoral students in the GSII may publish the results of their research in the journal after passing rigorous assessment by internal and external reviewers.
